the girl vigdis will make note that it is the will of the free requesting the beverage as to what or how They wish it served. The following are 'general' understood ways of serving the mentioned beverages.
Ale: Found mostly in Torvaldsland is brewed from fruits and grains of the region along with hops from Earth. It is a rich golden color and more resembles a honey laagar rather than beer or ale of Earth. Ale can be served chilled or room temp, depending on the Free ordering it. It is stored in casks along the wall in the kitchen, in a storage room or even in the ice house. Ale can be served in any of the following vessels (again depending on the request of the Free) horn, tankard or bowl.
Mead: An alcoholic drink, favored over paga in Torvaldsland, brewed from honey and spices and water. Thick when cold because of its honey base it is stored in casks in a cool place such as a storage room or along the back wall in the kitchen. Mead is served room temp or warm/hot from a kettle over the fire. Normally mead is served from a horn or a tankard.
Pagar-Sa-Tarna: “Pleasure of the Life-Daughter” and commonly called 'paga' for short as its full name is rarely used. A fermented brew made from Sa-Tarna grain and the most popular alcoholic drink on Gor. Depending on which region it is brewed, it has different grains and spices added. It gets its golden color from the sa-tarna from which it is brewed and has been described as 'hot' or 'firey' in taste. It is normally served warm however it can be served hot from a bowls, cups, goblets, glasses, pots. Paga is purchased from merchants in bottles or botas and stored near the fire.
Milk comes in three varieties verr, bosk and kaiila. The milk of the kaiila is reddish with a strong salty taste as it contains ferrous sulphate. Stored in the ice house in pitchers (in bottles in the city as there are milk vendors). This would be served in a glass or a cup. Hot milk is also served.
Water can be served fresh from the pump, the spring or from pitchers or barrels stored in the ice house. Served in a goblet or a glass or even a tem wood bowl. A nice touch of course is fruit inside the water.
