Gãlen K (t) ¶3PG¶CA: can you tell me the colors of a tuchuk warriors scars there order and what each is for
Well, a seemingly simple question was asked and with great regret the bond vigdis did not know the answer. Here now however is what the girl has found out. It is her hope that this answer meets with the Master's expectations.
Tuchuk is one of the four tribes of the Wagon People of Gor. The Four tribes live a nomadic life traveling in the grassland region of the southern hemisphere of Gor. The land of the People extends from the coast of Thassa at the Ta Thassa Mountains and southward to the Voltai Range. The great city of Turia is located within this region as well.
It is important to note that each tribe does have scaring (which when reading the description of same sounds more like a form of tattooing) however the one that is best described is that of the Tachuk Tribe. This is also referred to as the Scar Codes of the Wagon Peoples.
Scars are usually set on the face in pairs, in a double chevron, moving diagonally down to the nose and chin. Each set of scars has a meaning and each tribe can 'read' the meaning of the scars that are shown. It is the Men of the Wagon People that are scarred not the Women.
The First scar is red and is the highest up on the face. It is known as the courage scar. This scar is earned for an act of courage in something as it is said “The wagon peoples value courage above all else.” (Nomads of Gor, 16). Without the first scar, there is no foundation or reason for the other scars.
The Courage Scar also allows a Man to pay court to a free woman, own a wagon and own more than five bosk or three kailla.
The act of getting the scars themselves is also considered courageous for the simple fact that it takes several days. Pigment and bosk dung are worked into the skin by using needles and knives. It has been known that some Men have died getting their scars.
Regrettably in the books the names of the other scars are not mentioned. We do have an example of the Kamchaks seven scars which were as follows: red (courage), yellow, blue, black, two more yellow and lastly another black.
